The Blackest Sheep

He said we all could be forgiven
He said our faith could save us from our sings
This gift that He is giving the world
lets a bright ray of hope shine in
What could i do? I knew what He said was true!
The moment i heard His words, "Repent and come."
i knew my days of sinning were done.

And, yes, if was hard to take a stand
how my friends laughed when they heard my plans
but i really knew, what i'd heard was true!
And i would rather die than turn away.

I went into the water and washed away the stains of all my sins
I rose from there a Daughter of Light!
How can i show my thanks to Him?
Whatever i do, His gift is greater, it's true!
When i see Him face to face, then I will kneel
I'll show the humble love i feel!

He said all was forgiven! He said my faith had saved me from my sins!
The gift that He has given to me burns like a fire here within!
Whatever i do, His gift is greater it's true!
The tears that these eyes have cried are joyful ones
Grateful for all Jesus has done
