The Earth Knows
The world
will be light for a day and a night and a day just before He comes.
Then the
Light of the world will come into the world,
Prepare for
the Light! Prepare for the Light!
Prepare for
the light of the Son!
For
the earth knows her maker, and all nature unites to sing.
For the one
whose power moves all the world has come (oh, rejoice)!
Rejoice in
the birth of the King!
A new star
has appeared to guide wise men and seers in their search for the Promised One.
For the
Light of the world has come into the world.
Come into
His light. Come kneel at the sight.
Rejoice in
the light of the Son.
And the
earth knows her maker so all nature unites to sing.
For the one
whose power moves all the world has come (oh, rejoice)!
Rejoice in
the birth of the King!
Light was
the sign of his coming, darkness the sign of His death.
The great
mourning and howlings and cries of the people
Are matched
by the earth, with tempest and quakings
As the
Master of all the world draws His last breath.
For
the earth knows her maker and all nature unites to mourn.
For the one
whose power moves all the world has died (oh, rejoice)
For as He
dies we are born!
Light was
His sign of beginning, darkness His sing of the end.
But the
third day comes, the Son rises again,
To
walk on the earth, and rule in the heav’ns.
The creator
of all the world reigns again!
And the
earth knows her maker or all nature unites to sing.
For the one
whose power rules all the earth, now lives (oh, rejoice)
Rejoice in
the life of the King!
