On the Wings of a Dove
How long must we wait, day after day?
Hoping for sunshine's shadows, how long must we pray?
The gray is o'repow'ring below and above.
Send us a hope of promise on the wings of this dove!
Her wings are laden with our faith that the world can be born again,
And thou can see our ev'ry need from above.
When our spirits are low, you are watching from on high,
And will guide us in the way that we should go
With the wings of a dove.
Our hearts are not troubled, and we have no fear....
But in our darkest moments, you know there were tears.
We doubt not thy vision or the strength of thy love -
We just ask for some small token on the wings of a dove.
Her wings are laden with our faith that though
silent, you still care,
For with what we've seen, how could we doubt your love?
Though all we see is desolation, we will not feel despair.
We believe unspoken hopes will somehow come
On the wings of a dove.
The night is now falling, with no friend in sight!
Remember - before you murmur - that you are alive!
His vision is endless, He's not bound by our days
But He's kept ev'ry single promise that He's ever made!
Those wings are laden with our faith and our hope for better days.
Laden with our gratitude and love.
Oh, God, forgive us our impatience, for in truth, what's one more day?
Though today, somehow, we thought a ray of hope would come....
I see the dove!
Her wings are laden with our faith that the world can be born again,
And thou can see our ev'ry need from above.
When our spirits are low, you are watching from on high,
And will guide us in the way that we should go
With the wings of a dove!
