Mary’s Song

Our time with the Master was lost.

We wept as He hung on the cross.

When they carried His body away,

When they laid Him in the grave

I was there.

I came to mourn before dawn.

Who’s taken the Master?  He’s gone!

I searched the tomb in vain!

I cried my grief and pain –

Then He came…

I saw Him!  I heard His voice!  I saw Him!

And who am I?  Why has He chosen me

To be the first to know and see

He lives again?

Rabonni!”  It was all I could say…

In a moment, He’d gone away.

I ran to share what He’d said.

“Rejoice, the Master’s not dead!”

Then I said:

I saw Him!  I heard His voice!  I saw Him!

And who am I?  Why has He chosen me

To be the first to know and see

He lives again?

To think that He chose me to be the first who saw Him!

I saw Him!
